The two words in our name are deliberate. Safety means every electrical installation is designed, installed and tested to BS 7671 and every appliance is returned to a safe condition or you are told clearly why it should be retired. Consistency means the same standard on a single socket as on a full rewire, and the same care in a quotation as in the work itself.
Electrical installation work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (Requirements for Electrical Installations, the IET Wiring Regulations) as currently amended. On completion, installations are inspected and tested and the appropriate certificate is issued: an Electrical Installation Certificate for new circuits and significant alterations, or a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate for smaller additions and alterations.
In England, certain domestic electrical work is “notifiable” under Part P of the Building Regulations, including new circuits, consumer unit replacements and work in special locations such as bathrooms. Where work is notifiable it is notified to the relevant building control body so that the required compliance certificate is issued to you.
Repairs are carried out on electrical and mechanical components using appropriate replacement parts. After a repair the appliance is functionally tested and, where appropriate, electrically tested for earth continuity and insulation before it is returned to service. We work on electric appliances only. Gas cookers, hobs and boilers must be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and we will tell you if a job falls outside what we can do.
We carry out a risk assessment before starting work, isolate and prove dead before working on circuits, and follow safe-isolation procedures throughout. Waste, including old cable, fittings and replaced parts, is disposed of responsibly.
We do not display accreditation logos on this website. If you require evidence of insurance, qualifications or scheme membership for a particular job, please ask and we will provide the relevant documents directly.
Tell us what you need and we will come back to you with a clear, written quotation.
